Since 1992 Chwarae Teg has been working to help women in Wales to achieve and prosper. We undertake research, run projects and networks along with advising government, industry and academia. This ensures the issues and barriers that women face when entering and progressing in the world of work are continually being challenged.

This is no small task; since the industrial era, by and large, our workplaces have been established and operated from a male perspective. Workplace culture is increasingly at odds with the way both women and men are living their lives today, which in addition to hindering the fair and appropriate progression of women is also detrimental to the economic development of Wales.

We have a clear vision: “A Wales where women achieve and prosper” and we’d love you to join us as a friend so that together we can reach our goal.

Why is your friendship important to us?

It’s simple really; the more people who choose to become our friends, the stronger we all become.

With your support our messages and campaigns will get seen by more people, this means the issues affecting the progression of women will become more visible and easier to be acted upon.

Ensuring that more women and men have a greater understanding will help to change attitudes, spur action and make a positive change for women across Wales.

We work closely with government and by having lots of friends we’ll be able to ask you for your views and opinions on key topics. These will form our feedback and advice to government. So the more views we capture, the stronger our overall message becomes and the quicker we’ll see positive action taken.

What’s it like to be a friend?

Being a friend means:

• You’ll be supporting the work we do to help women achieve and prosper

• You’ll be kept informed about the work we’re doing

• Your views will be valued, and from time to time we’ll ask you to complete short online surveys on a range of topics that affect women

• You’ll be invited first to events we run around Wales

• You’ll be helping us to achieve our vision

As it’s really cost effective the main way we’ll communicate with you is through email.
