We are delighted to announce that Chwarae Teg is celebrating its twentieth anniversary in 2012.

Cutting the Ribbon

Ever since 1992 Chwarae Teg has worked to support the economic development of women in Wales. This has been achieved by building a strong knowledge base, founded on solid research, to provide sound advice to government, industry and educators and to deliver projects to support women and change the way we work.

In 2012 Chwarae Teg is as busy as ever, particularly with our current European Social Fund and Welsh Government Funded Agile Nation project that is helping women gain valuable management and leadership skills to turn their jobs into rewarding careers! The project is also supporting businesses to help them develop effective diversity and equality strategies that benefit both the business and its employees.

In 2012 this work remains vital because:

The pay gap between men’s and women’s average earnings still stands at 10%.Women continue to be under-represented in senior jobs and key industry sectors.Women’s unemployment continues to rise.
