Joy Kent
Chief Executive
Joy Kent took up the position of chief executive of Chwarae Teg in January 2013. Before joining the organisation she was the founding director of Cymorth Cymru, an umbrella body for organisations working with vulnerable people and prior to that held policy roles at the Chartered Institute of Housing Cymru, the Welsh Local government Association and Welsh Government. Joy is also a trustee of the WCVA and a director of WCVA Services. Before settling in Wales, Joy taught at and managed private language schools in Spain, the Czech Republic, Brazil and Egypt.
Trish Chalk
Business Development Director
Trish Chalk joined Chwarae Teg as Business Development Director in September 2007 bringing with her an MA and wide ranging experience in management and business development. Trish has worked in the public and non-profit sectors for the past nine years, before joining Chwarae Teg Trish ran a not for profit organization in England implementing projects to improve operational efficiency and develop their commercial programmes. Trish is responsible for developing Chwarae Teg's support programmes for public, private and voluntary sector organisations.
Hayley Dunne
Project Manager
Hayley joined Chwarae Teg in January 2001 and has worked on projects and core business during that time. Since January 2003, she has been responsible for the Work Life Balance aspect of Chwarae Teg's work, which included management of the project with large public sector organizations, culminating in a best practice report, development of the website for Work Life Balance in Wales and the SME Challenge Fund. Prior to her appointment as Agile Nation Project Manager, Hayley was responsible for the delivery of the Welsh Assembly Government's Work Life Balance Strategy - Getting the Balance Right, which ran to March 2008
Ann Elliot
Resource Manager
Ann joined us in February 2003 and is Chwarae Teg's Resource Manager with responsibility for HR, Facilities Management and Health & Safety. She has more than twenty years' experience in personnel and training working in both the private and not for profit sectors. As well as managing Chwarae Teg's HR and facilities functions Ann contributes to the delivery of the organisation's business plan, the development of new projects and assisting with some PR activities.
John Jackson
Marketing and PR Manager
John is responsible for the marketing and PR of Chwarae Teg and its Agile Nation project. A post-graduate qualified marketeer John has over18 years experience in delivering roles for household names including Tesco and House of Fraser. He also has extensive project marketing experience through his work with the Opportunity Wales ecommerce initiative. In 2010 John spearheaded the Agile Nation Womenspire campaign that went on to win the Chartered Institute of PR Pride award for the Best use of Digital PR.
Judy Leering
Director of Finance and IT
Judy is a qualified accountant who has more than 10 years of financial experience in the voluntary sector, managing annual budgets of over £3million. Her role involves managing and accounting for diverse streams of funding; ensuring effective systems and controls are in place to support monitoring and reporting of financial and operational performance; liaising with funding bodies and advising the Board on all financial and accounting matters. Judy has extensive experience of European funding grant claims; project accounting and reporting; audits and liaising with officials at a senior level
Bev Pold
Project Innovation Manager
Bev joined Chwarae Teg in 2001 as part of the Women's Enterprise Wales team and has worked in a variety of roles across the organisation since, including policy, business development and project management. She is Theme Leader for Enterprise and is currently developing new projects to complement Chwarae Teg's portfolio in addition to providing technical support to Agile Nation. In 2009, Bev received the Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion
Christine O'Byrne
Policy and Public Affairs Manager
Christine joined Chwarae Teg in 2009, providing research and policy support for the organisation. She now manages this function and has been working on a number of significant projects including Chwarae Teg’s study of women’s roles in the Welsh workforce, A Woman’s Place.
Christine provides specialist advice on women in the economy to Government and other organisations to inform policy development. Christine has held policy roles for a number of years, having previously worked with Careers Wales West and policy and research consultancy, CFE.
Her work in policy development has mostly concentrated on education, skills and economic development. Christine also sits on the Board of Directors at WEN Wales as their women in the economy lead.
