Is there an idea in me?

16th December 2020

Intrigued by the idea of being your own boss? To turn your existing skills into work that fits around your life or care responsibilities? This series of webinars will help you discover what it’s really like to run your own business, figure out ideas, a confidence boost that YOU can do it, and ensure you have the money bit sorted and the practical steps to get going.

Session 2: Is there an idea in me? Facilitated by Sarah Rees, Consultant

This session will enable you to run through the possibilities and equip you to turn a seed of an idea into an action plan. We will touch on the areas you need to cover in a business plan, how to turn what you enjoy into a way to earn money, and have your own ‘elevator pitch’ ready to take action. By the end of the workshop you will have a set of tools and be able to set SMART goals to achieve them.

A little bit about Sarah Rees

After being made redundant, Sarah set up her own business, Career Women Wales, which supported hundreds of women across Wales to find work and realise their career goals.

Now working on various projects as a consultant, Sarah also campaigns on various feminist issues, mainly those based on the motherhood penalty, alongside the full-time job of being a mum to two young children.

On a volunteer basis, Sarah is the Campaign manager for Pregnant Then Screwed, where her passion is to support and raise the voices of pregnant women and mothers, and a supporter and friend to Women Seeking Sanctuary Advocacy Group in Cardiff.

If you want to get Sarah on her soapbox, ask her about the 30 hours childcare scheme, what real flex appeal looks like, or why we need to stand aside to provide space for BAME women in politics.
