WOMEN LEADING GROWTH

4th April 2014

A LEADERSHIP AND BUSINESS GROWTH PROGRAMME STARTING IN BRIDGEND, JUNE 2014

Programme delivered by Swansea University in partnership with Chwarae Teg

Leading Growth offers women in SME’s Personal Leadership and Business Development on a presently fully funded programme worth £7310 per person. This programme is especially for women leading business in Wales.

Leading Growth has been evolved from a successful programme that we have been running for four years called LEAD Wales. To see some of the testimonials from past delegates of LEAD Wales and further information regarding Leading Growth please click on this link: http://www.leadwales.co.uk/en/contact-us.htm

The programme has several different aspects. Firstly, as we are bringing people together to work on the business, it is important to form relationships based on trust and we do this during an Overnight Experiential Learning Event which is held at the Coed Y Mwstwr Hotel in Bridgend. (All costs covered apart from incidentals and any drinks you may order at the bar). This will be held on the 16th & 17th July.

This is followed by cohort days once a month over ten months. During the days you spend with us, we bring in Master class presenters who are experts in their nominated field. This is usually a morning session. One example of a Master Class speaker is Sid Madge who runs a company called ‘Madhen’. Sid talks about Branding and you can find more details at http://www.madhen.uk.com/ . There are 5 other Leadership and Business related Master Classes in addition to Sid’s.

In the afternoon we split into three groups and run Knowledge Action Sets where you will have an opportunity to raise an issue or challenge you are facing, and the group will help you to work through it.

Other elements of the programme include a shadowing exercise, five sessions with an experienced Business Executive Coach and an accredited ILM Level 5 qualification.

To be eligible for the programme and funding, the SME’s must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be a Senior Manager, Director or Owner-Manager of a SME or Third Sector / Social Enterprise

  • Located within the Wales Convergence region (various locations across Wales available throughout 2014)

  • Traded for two years or more - negotiable

  • Employ at least 4 staff (not exceeding 250 staff)

  • Turnover not exceeding £40m

We currently have two preview events for this programme planned with a further event for Swansea / West Wales to be confirmed:

29 April The Brewery Field, Bridgend 1730-1930 with refreshments provided
1 May The Central South Consortium, Nantgarw 1730-1930 with refreshments provided
