Tell us about your organisation.
Business in Focus is a social enterprise dedicated to supporting new and established businesses. We have been helping people start and grow their own businesses for over three decades, by providing tailored expert business advice, access to finance and skills training. We are here to support entrepreneurs through the provision of flexible accommodation and trading spaces, finance, expert advice, training and networking opportunities. Our services are delivered on behalf of public and private bodies, and we have an excellent track record of working with both the UK and Welsh Governments.
Why are you supporting the awards?
We don’t accept that people in Wales should be put at a disadvantage when it comes to developing their skills, experience and ability to build rewarding careers based on their gender and so support efforts to effect change in this area. As an Investors in People Gold accredited organisation, we invest in our people, which is why we are supporting the Womenspire Awards. Chwarae Teg shares the same principles as Business in Focus when it comes to equality, diversity and inclusion in the work place – we are both committed to promoting change and creating fairer working environments for people in Wales.
Why does gender equality matter to you?
Business in Focus is an equal opportunities employer, we have not only achieved the C2E (Committed to Equality) standard but we have also been awarded Gold for our commitment to the standard in practice throughout the company. We value inclusivity and work hard to ensure that all of our colleagues are trained to professionally deliver an inclusive service to all clients.
Why do you support the work of Chwarae Teg?
Chwarae Teg shares the same principles as Business in Focus in terms of our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion so it was only natural that we would support the Womenspire Awards. Inequality for women still exists in Wales and Chwarae Teg is inspiring organisations across the country to make a difference by supporting organisations to make changes through training, guidance and expert advice, helping to effect real change in the workplace.
