Why are you supporting the awards?
The Womenspire Awards is a fantastic occasion which showcases and celebrates the dedicated work that Chwarae Teg delivers year on year to empower women to achieve their potential. We’re excited to be part of the awards and will continue to support their future work, through inspiration and awareness within the Welsh marketplace.
Why does gender equality matter to you?
We are conscious the Tech Industry has a gender imbalance, in which an average of just 20% of jobs are held by women and 15% of roles in STEM. We aspire to represent change through creating modern working practices to ensure women are represented in this sector. Through this we are currently above the tech industry average across the group and we continue to aim to increase this, to reach our goal of a balanced workforce and a fairer tech industry for women. If nothing is done by 2040, only 1% of women will be left in tech!
Why do you support the work of Chwarae Teg?
We are a forward thinking business and aspire to envision a Wales where gender inequality no longer exists. We hire based on merit and talent because we believe that diversity and equality offer so many different points of view and ways of thinking that complement each other to support the business growth. Currently two women in our team are enrolled in the Agile Nation2 Women’s Career Development Programme and we have been able to see first-hand the benefits provided to them. We continue to inspire other women to follow in their footsteps and support Chwarae Teg’s work to fill the gap in women’s opportunities and decrease the impact of gender inequality on economic performance.
