Thanks for a Wonderful Womenspire

11th July 2019

Well it’s been a week since our biggest and best Womenspire awards, but there’s still a buzz about the night here at Chwarae Teg and amongst all the fabulous people and organisations involved!

I wanted to take this chance to say a massive thank you again to all those who made it happen. The night was a real triumph, with a full house at St Fagans and Womenspire trending on Twitter!

Womenspire 19 Winners in a grid

Our finalists and fabulous winners on the night came from across Wales, and from all background and walks of life. Each and every one was truly incredible and I am honoured to have shared the Womenspire experience with them.

All the success could not have been possible of course without our amazing sponsors, who are truly making a difference to women in Wales. Their support enables us to celebrate the achievements of inspirational women and forward thinking businesses, with such a prestigious event. Whilst showcasing their commitment to gender diversity they have made it possible for us at Chwarae Teg to continue to build a Wales where women achieve and prosper.

Jane Hutt and Shan Cothi on stage

Thank you also to our host Shân Cothi and the evening’s performers who captivated guests with their talent for words, song and totally madcap routines – all certainly know how to put on a fantastic show!

Sarah McCreadie performing in the sun

My gratitude for the support and commitment of all involved in Womenspire is immense. It means we can keep our eyes on the big prize - a truly equal Wales where all women, men and non-binary people share power, responsibility and opportunity.

Votes for women signs

We will champion you, and you will, I hope, champion each other – putting the ambition for Wales to be a world leader in gender equality within our reach.
