Women’s Role
in the Welsh Workforce (2002)
To
mark Chwarae Teg’s 10th Anniversary last year we
commissioned market research agency Beaufort Research to
undertake a comparative study into women’s role in
the Welsh workplace.
After surveying over 1000 women between 25 and
49 and almost 500 employers the research highlights the changes
in attitudes
to women in employment over the past 10 years.
One of the key
findings of the report shows how women are now more likely
to think that working is the ‘normal’ thing
to do and that over a third of women are the main wage earner
for the household.
