Tell us about your organisation.

Sport Wales is the Welsh Government sponsored national body responsible for developing and promoting sport and physical activity in Wales. It has a focus on ensuring everyone has the opportunity to be active through sport, particularly encouraging more women and girls in Wales to give sport a go.

Why are you supporting the awards?

We are passionate about sport in Wales and acknowledging those who play a part in it - aligning with the vision of Chwarae Teg and these awards. We champion role models for women & girls sport and encourage females to give sport a go to benefit their lives. Events such as these are a wonderful opportunity to recognise the work being carried out across the country.

Why does gender equality matter to you?

We don’t want gender to be a barrier when it comes to sport participation. We encourage women to try new sports and seek opportunities to broaden their experiences and hopefully – enjoy!
Encouraging people to be active is everyone’s business because of the wider benefits it can bring to the both the individuals and wider society.

We support the work of Chwarae Teg in empowering women across Wales and championing role models across various fields to help inspire other women and girls to stand up and help make a positive change and difference.
