Wales’ leading gender equality charity, Chwarae Teg, is encouraging the people of Wales to champion the nation’s inspirational women.
The call comes as Chwarae Teg opens nominations today (17 January 2019) for its Womenspire 2019 awards. Now in their fourth year, the awards recognise women’s achievements by highlighting remarkable accomplishments and contributions in every aspect of life.
The Womenspire 2019 ceremony, which will take place at St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff on Thursday 4th July, will see individual women awarded in the following categories:
- Community Activist
- Woman in Sport
- Rising Star
- Learner
- Creative and Media
- Entrepreneur
- Leader
- People’s Choice
- Woman in STEM
- Board Member
- Womenspire Champion
There will also be two categories for organisations and businesses who are committed to gender equality and provide the support required for women to achieve and prosper:
- Diversity Champion
- FairPlay Employer©
