Royal Mint and Womenspire finalist join Not Just for Boys webinar

10th July 2020

High School aged girls in North West Wales are being encouraged to sign up for the latest Not Just For Boys event – Women in STEM now - featuring inspirational female role models.

Run by Chwarae Teg, the webinar will take place from 10am-11am on Thursday 16 July and feature Youmna Mouhamad, a finalist in the Women in STEM category at the Womenspire Awards 2020. Youmna is also Director of Myana Natural and a Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellow at the University of South Wales.

From the Royal Mint the panel will include Rebecca Morgan, Head of Collector Services, Beth Gillard, Head of IT Infrastructure and Jenny Honey, Technical Manager.

A force to be reckoned with, the panel will help show the girls that careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) are Not Just For Boys and enable them to:

  • discover what ‘a day in a life’ looks like working in a STEM industry
  • hear how they have been working in the fight against COVID-19
  • be inspired by their career journeys
  • ask the role models any questions around their careers

This webinar is the final in our STEM series for high school aged girls and if the others are anything to go by they will get a lot out of it. 100% of participants told us they enjoyed the last webinar and that they now feel more informed about STEM career choices as a result!

“During these challenging times this webinar will be a fun and interactive way of helping to keep girls inspired and motivated, whilst showcasing rewarding careers within STEM industries."
